Dan Dan Noodles (Mein)

Ingredients

2 Pounds of Pork Butt
5-6 Shallots
1 Packet of 5 Spice
1/4 Piece of Brown Candy* 
(or 1 Tablespoon of Brown Sugar)
3 Tablespoons of Rice Wine
3 Tablespoons of Oyster Sauce
2 Tablespoons of Aged Soy Sauce
1 Tablespoon of light Soy Sauce
1 Tablespoon of Soy Sauce for Seafood
2.5 Cups of Water

Taiwanese Noodles
(Substitute: Angel Hair Pasta)
Chili Oil

Cut Me:
Cilantro
Green Onions
Cucumbers

Step 1
Chop pork butt into smaller pieces and boil for 5 minutes in a pot.
Drain the pork butt out on to a colander. On high heat put the pork butt on to large pan.
Step 2
Stir fry for about 5-10 minutes until crispy. Add 3 tablespoons of rice wine. Once you reduced all the liquid add your chopped up shallots. Add your brown sugar candy pieces in as well.
Step 3
Keep stirring and add all of the following:
3 Tablespoons of Oyster Sauce
2 Tablespoons of Aged Soy Sauce
1 Tablespoon of light Soy Sauce,
1 Tablespoon of Soy Sauce for Seafood
2.5 Cups of Water
1 Packet of 5 Spice
Step 4
Bring to a boil. Then place heat on low and let it simmer for 30-45 minutes. Stir every 10 minutes
Step 5
Julienne cucumbers. Cut up the cilantro and green onions
Step 6
Cook your noodles. Drain them and serve with your pork butt braised goodness! Serve and garnish with whatever topping you choose!
